Description
**First Time At Auction**
East Asia, China, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A mold-blown, translucent glass vase of a pale blue hue which is accentuated with countless golden flecks. The vase is composed of a flat base, a piriform body, a narrow neck, and a thick, flared rim. The main body is incised with dozens of incised cloud-shaped forms which cease just below the neck. Thick swaths of bright ruby-red hued glass are applied atop the body in motifs including trees, flowers, peaches, and flying fruit bats. The base of the vessel is surrounded by more red glass, and the concave underside bears four Chinese characters arranged in a square. Size: 2.875" W x 5.625" H (7.3 cm x 14.3 cm).

Condition
Surface wear and minor abrasions commensurate with age, some light clouding to main body, and minor fading to some incised details, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits inside body.
