Description
A Greek terracotta figure of seated Kybele, c. 5th Century BC. The goddess sits on a throne with spiked protrusion on either side, feet on a low stool. She wears a towered headdress and long dress, hands are placed on her lap. Remains of white dressing including original paint. H: 6 3/4 in (17.2 cm). Ex Upstate New York collection acquired in the 1970's.
