GERMAN METTLACH CERAMIC STEINS, LOT OF TWO, each having relief designed sides and ceramic inset metal lid, comprising one mold number 2608 in 3/10 liter size and one mold number 2086 in 1/2 liter size. Each with various numerical and letter impressed marks, one with worn printed mark, one with printed "VILLEROY & BOCH / METTLACH" mark. Late 19th/early 20th century. 6 1/8" and 7" HOA.
Smaller one with manufacturing hairlines along handle's terminals with possible repairs, one bruise/hairline along foot; larger one with dents and losses on top edge of lid's metal holder, scattered hairlines.
Literature: Mold number 2086 and 2608 as Kirsner - The Mettlach Book, second edition, p. 84 and p. 104.
