GERMAN METTLACH CERAMIC STEIN, 3.3L, mold 2348/1022 with a musician, man, and woman, landscape and house behind, having "Musik Lieb und Gerstensoft / Gibt Freud un Lebenskraft" on a banner at base; pewter lid. Impressed "2348" mold number, "GERMANY" ground off of base. Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach, Germany. Circa 1900. 13 7/8" H.
Short hairline on exterior of rim, does not go through to inside and possibly from manufacture.
