Cornelius Hazart was a 17th-century Dutch Jesuit priest and controversialist writer. His āEcclesiastical History of the Whole Worldā delivered on the ācontroversialā side of church history, as Hazart explored some of the most detestable acts of the church including tortures, imprisonments, wars on religion, and brutal executions, such as drowning, hangings, beheadings, and burnings.
In addition to āEcclesiastical Historyā, Hazart published a number of controversial works that stirred contention between Jesuits and Calvinists, even though many of Hazartās works and teachings attracted Calvinists. One of these such works was āTriumph of Christian Doctrineā, a short refutation to the Calvinist Catechism.
