Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A trio of ceramic artifacts from the shaft tomb cultures. First, a candelero, cuboid in form, with two deep, cylindrical holes in its face; second, two round stamps, one with stepped/cross motifs and the other with wide, round bands; these may have been made for dyeing textiles or for rolling designs onto people's skin before dances and ceremonies. Size of largest piece (candelero): 2.25" W x 1.3" H (5.7 cm x 3.3 cm)
