Description
Born in 1955, Charles Fazzino is the son of a Finnish sculptor (Irene) and an Italian mode shoe designer (Salvatore). He took his first formal art class as a 7th grader in 1967 and later graduated from of the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan in 1977 with degree in bachelor of arts. Charles Fazzino can paint almost anything. Not only does he paint on baseballs and helmets, but he’s been known to paint home plates, seat backs, and even Monument Park bricks from the old Yankee Stadium. His most ambitious endeavors have included painting a 5-foot-diameter-baseball for the MLB All-Star Game and a 4-foot-long helmet for George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, FL.. This piece is a unique original one of a kind mix media that was created on the bottom portion of the seat belonging to the Old Yankee Stadium. The Yankees last played at this stadium in 2008 before moving to the new stadium. The old Yankee stadium was torn down shortly afterwards. the piece is signed by Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera and Charles Fazzino. image size: 21" X 15.5" framed size: 34" X 28.5" X 4"
