A 7-character Chinese calligraphy couplet in ink on paper by Chen Qiwang. The second calligraphy has 2 seals, and each is mounted on a silk backing and silk dowels.
Dimensions are: 56 inches tall X 13 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The couplet has significant age wear, worm damage, and large areas of repair.
Provenance: From the estate of Eulalio Carrera Lowe, first Panamanian Consul General in Guangzhou, China; then in Hong Kong and Macau in 1940s and 1950s.
