Description
A Chinese seated bronze Buddha displaying the "Touching Earth" or bhumisparsa mudra on a double lotus pedestal and dating from the Ming Dynasty. The Buddha has incised floral patterns on the borders of its robe and a wooden base.
Dimensions are: 13 inches tall X 8 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in overall good condition with very minor age wear.
Provenance: From a Washington D.C. collector who was a surgeon and collected these items in the 1970s and 1980s. Each of the lots in his collection come with original receipt and collector's notes.
