This lot consists of a Fine Art Print on paper, HAND SIGNED "Egon Schiele" in graphite at bottom right of composition. Within its paper frame, this enigmatic composition describes a crooked figure: a sleepy, gaunt-faced man whose neck bends unnaturally to the viewer's left.The subject's wiry hands almost seem to be reaching for his collar or his throat. Is he clothed or semi-clothed? Alive or dead? Only the subject's eyes reflect some hint of life - a half-interested, almost disassociated stare, but a spark nonetheless in an otherwise shadowy field of black. It is done in the brooding palette quintessential to the Modern Expressionist style of Egon Schiele (Austrian, 1890-1918). Overall measures 8" x 8.5". Image is depressed into paper indicating plate marks.
