Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A mold-made pottery oil-lamp-filling vessel with a raised ring base, smooth sloped bottom, rounded shoulders with an incised vertical line pattern, a protruding abstract palm leaf handle with faint red pigmentation, a short tubular wick spout with a folded rim, a raised design on top displaying a multi-flora motif, a small fill hole, and a raised inner circle enclosing the delicate portrait of Minerva, goddess of wisdom and the arts. Size: 4.5" L x 3.25" W x 1.75" H (11.4 cm x 8.3 cm x 4.4 cm).
