DESCRIPTION: An antique Japy Freres, dore bronze clock. Features an overall dore bronze foundation, with Greco-Roman, channelled column motifs along the base, as well as flanking the center clock face. Flanking the clock face are scrolled rococo dore bronze acanthus leaves. Topping the cornice is a jardiniere, flanked by Neo-Classical maiden visages and topped by a cornucopia of fruit. Finished throughout with Sevres style, enameled porcelain plaques with floral motifs. Below the clock face is a scene of two children playing with a puppy. The clock face is finished with an enameled porcelain foundation with Roman Numeral Dials. Marked with a Japy Freres stamp as well as an impressed: "Charles", possibly relating to Charles Guillaume Adolphe Japy.

CONDITION: The dore bronze foundation has some breaks along the bottom verso. Missing wind up key as well as glass cover. Center rod is a bit loose and uncertain if in working condition. the two bottom porcelain plaques are off center and one is broken with visible hairlines.
