Meiji Period Parcel Gilt Oni Demon holding a clawed club in his left hand and raising aloft a dished platform in his right hand, within which sits a loose bronze bell bowl having giltwork, and black lacquered dimpled lower half. Mounted on a carved wooden base, 26 1/2" tall overall, 11 1/2" diam. bowl. Very good condition. With 1984 certificate of authenticity from TK Oriental Antiques, Williamsburg, VA. PROVENANCE: From the estate of Dr. Arthur and Ruth Sokoloff, Coral Gables, FL.
