Vintage trio set of Pyrex dishware in the Town & Country pattern. Introduced by Pyrex in 1963, this pattern only had a retail life of five years, 1963-1967. Multiple versions of the dishes in the Town & Country collection exist as a response to the mix and match kitchenware trend of the day. Pyrex introduced the pattern and colors as having the perfect color harmony with contemporary living, styled to complement the dining room, kitchen, living room and patio. This round casserole set is in the 470 series and features the pattern known as White Star Abstract in the white, yellow and orange colors with Pyrex pattern number 2010.4.1311 a. Another tag given to the White Star Abstract name was Embroidered. Philip Johnson was the designer. The dish set is numbered 470, 471 and 472 which corresponds with the sizes of 1 pint, 1 ½ pint and 1 quart. The casserole dishes have a simple but contemporary pattern and are in excellent condition with no staining, chips or cracks.
