This bracelet features 8.73 carats of rich red rubies perfectly matched for color each set by hand and 4.32 carats of unenhanced H color VS/SI clarity sparkling white diamonds

The total combined weight of rubies and diamonds is 13.05 carats.

Unlike the almost all rubies one sees in modern jewelry, the natural rubies in this bracelet have not been lead glass filled. These days most rubies are low clarity stones that have been clarity enhanced by filling the numerous fractures filled with molten lead glass. The glass sets and provides a temporary improvement in clarity but over time it becomes cloudy and it also works loose and begins to break away and fall out. The lead glass filler is also easily damaged by contact with household cleaning agents and even by lemon juice or vinegar. Modern glass filled ruby is not just unstable it is also of very low value.
