This fine necklace features seven original 18th century hand made 22 carat yellow gold drops each is set with fine enamel, pearls, natural emeralds, old cut diamonds and rock crystal.

The necklace is reversible with a colorful enamelled design on one side of the drops and gem and diamond set on the other. This effectively means two necklaces in one and had a purpose beyond the purely decorative, it added the versatility of a day night piece which were so popular in the Georgian era, in the day worn with the lovely colored enamel showing and reversed at night to show the gems and diamonds. It also allowed the wearer to quickly disguise the apparent value of the necklace by simply reversing it to the enamel side thus concealing the gems and diamonds, something that might prove necessary when leaving a secure private setting for more public surroundings.

Originally in the 18th century these pendant drops would have been attached to beautiful silk cord which has been replaced in modern times with a solid 14K gold chain, the chain has been lengthened.

Each of the seven gem and diamond set drops measure 1 3/4" long by 1 3/16" wide (45 x 30 mm).

The combined total carat weight of untreated earth mined natural gems and diamonds is 26.6 carats, the weight of diamonds 10.5 carats and the weight of gems 16.1 carats.

The necklace is 15 3/8 inches in length and weighs 85.59 grams.

The chain is stamped 14K meaning solid 14 karat gold. The seven antique drops are solid 22 karat gold, confirmed by testing.
