Pierre Gustave Adolphe Gusman (French, 1862-1941), "La Decoration Murale A Pompei", color plates XXIX and XXVIII, published by Editions Albert Morance, Paris, 1924. Two prints from the portfolio of Gusman's illustrations of murals recovered at the Pompeii archaeological site following the famous eruption that buried the city and its residents. Both images present aesthetically impressive as well as informative interpretations of this important historical site. Gusman was a historian of Ancient Rome as well as an accomplished artist. Size: 10.625" L x 8.75" W (27 cm x 22.2 cm) and 8.75" L x 10.625" W (22.2 cm x 27 cm)
