Description
East Asia, Japan, later Meiji period, ca. early 20th century CE. A pretty conch shell horn in the style of those used in the Buddhist tradition. A wooden mouth piece makes the horn playable. The item, known as a "hora" or "horagai" can produce three or five different notes. Size: 4.75" W x 11" H (12.1 cm x 27.9 cm)
