Description
**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A fine pair of miniature cast-bronze daggers, one resembling a typical short sword and the other in the form of a double-eared pommel sword. The short sword has an elongated triangular blade with a rounded tip, a stocky guard and handle, and a T-shaped pommel with a central pierced hole. The second miniature has a narrow blade with a sharpened tip, a thick handle with a pair of incised ovoid forms, and a pommel with two projecting semicircles which resemble ears. Both daggers are covered in layers of light green, dark green, and russet-hued patina. Size of largest (short sword): 4.55" L (11.6 cm).

Condition
Small repair to blade of double-eared pommel sword. Both items have surface wear and minor abrasions commensurate with age, slight bending to blades and overall forms, light fading to some details, and light roughness across handles and blades. Short sword has loss to one tip of pommel. Light earthen deposits and fabulous green and russet patina throughout.
