Description
(1896 - 1974) Soviet Field Marshall, perhaps the greatest general of World War II, he survived crushing poverty and Stalin's purges to command the Russian armies at the monumental battles of Moscow and Kursk, and in the taking of Berlin. Typed D.S., 2pp. 4to., Kiev, Aug. 29, 1940, entitled "Order to the Troops of the Special Military Zone No. 95", not translated by us but pertaining to the criminal attitude towards the use of artillery and related equipment. Zhukov signs boldly at the conclusion in brown indelible pencil, with two additional officers countersigning. Shows file holes at the left edge, else very good.
