Description
19th c. Dahong Palay Filipino Short Sword and hand tooled leather scabbard. Owners or makers initials on blade. The hilt is horn and curves to one side which offers a very comfortable grip. There is an iron collar supporting the hilt. The blades tang is secured through the pommel, over a small octagonal iron spacer. The Dahong Palay, also known as Dungon Pimmagay, is a Filipino blade from the Northern Philippines. The name, Dahong Palay, refers to the shape of the blade which resembles a rice leaf.
