Circa 1700. In bold blue conventional and bird decoration in the Spanish manner. This exact jar is illustrated (Plate IV) in "The Catalogue of Mexican Majolica belonging to Mrs. Robert DeForest" written by Edwin Atlee Barber in 1911 for her exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. 10 1/2"h By descent from the Estate of Robert Weeks DeForest and Emily Johnson DeForest.
