AMERICAN WHITEWORK-STYLE SIGNATURE PIECED QUILT, hand-stitched, 15 blocks, each having an 18-petal daisy with an embroidered signature in each petal and center, diamond quilting to sashing within a running plume border having daisy corners, back-to-front binding, plain backing, all cotton. 285 names including Delma Kunkel, Werr Kunkel, Helen Kunkel, Joseph Dunkel, Annie Burger, Mrs. Carrie Good, Mr. W. L. Miller, etc. Label for The Virginia Quilt Project on back, date 6/10/89 and registration number LE-33. Circa 1930. 59 1/4" x 82 1/2".
Excellent overall condition, top with one very small spot, backing with a few minor spots and light red ghosting/shadowing from storage.
Provenance: From a Northern Virginia private collection.
