Description
A PAIR OF AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE STYLE CARVED WALNUT CHAIRS, PROBABLY NEW YORK, 19TH CENTURY, reproduced after the "Crim" chair, the shell fan crest within scrolling foliate serpentine crest rails, above a pierced, scrolling foliate, vertical splat, above trapezoidal slip seats, now in cream, blue and rose striped upholstery, over wide skirts with applied gadroon details, on scrolling acanthus carved knee cabriole legs, raised on claw and ball feet. Height: 41" Width: 23" Depth: 20"
Condition
There are apparent repairs, probably refinished, some glue residue within some joints, later added screws, some repairs on the backs, some expected surface scratches and wear, but otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
