Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Protoclassic, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A solid, hand-built seated male figure with short tapered legs, incised loincloth and headband, sloping shoulders, and a flat back. The face displays a prominent nose, incised almond-shaped eyes, large-lobed ears, and a tall coiffure. Size: 5" H (12.7 cm).
Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-John Ohara collection, who traveled in South America 1950s-1960s
