Europe, probably England or Spain, ca. 19th century CE. A large cast-bronze signal cannon with thick lateral lugs, a pair of curving lifting handles, a knob-handled end cap, and a lengthy barrel. The lateral lugs rest comfortably within two grooves carved into the arms of its wooden cart support. The front of the cart is suspended in the air by a slender axle connected two eight-spoked wooden wheels, each with iron treads and dozens of nubbin traction teeth. Both arms of the cart extend backwards and droop towards the ground, each connected by a thick wooden block with a central perforation. A ring loop on either exterior side enables the cannon to be raised, lowered, and moved at will. Lovely caramel-hued patina covers most of the wood, imbuing it with a nice lustrous appearance. Size: 25.75" L x 10.75" W x 9.5" H (65.4 cm x 27.3 cm x 24.1 cm).

Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age as expected, small cracks and losses to some wheel spokes, lug rests, and some iron elements, light tarnishing to bronze cannon, minor oxidation to iron elements, and some areas of separation of iron from wood. Light earthen deposits throughout. Cannon likely still operational.
