This set of crepe fairy tale children's books include No. 9: 'The Serpent with Eight Heads', No. 10: 'The Matsuyama Mirror', No. 11: 'The Hare of Inaba', and No 12: 'The Cub's Triumph'. It was published by Farran & Co., London & Sydney, N.S.W. It was translated to English by Mrs. T.H. James. Every page is creped. It is on Japanese folded pages, 48 folded pages in all. It bears the publisher's name on the inside cover page, and the title pages of each book. We believe 1888 is the edition date of this book. The colors are very good. This book is bound and still tight, and intact. This book is quite clean. There is minor generalized wear from handling over the last 100+ years, but overall excellent condition. The pages are intact, except for one, which is separated, but otherwise in good condition. This book has normal timeworn wear, just light soiling as seen in the pix, but no heavy staining or tears. It measures 6" high x 4" wide, by about 1" thick. Japanese Fairy Tale books are pretty scarce, and crepe books are very rare in good condition. This set of crepe fairy tale books was much loved and cared for.
