Description
PRESSED THREE-PRINTIE BLOCK VASE, brilliant emerald green, medium conical bowl with a gauffered six-petal rim and lower knop extension, raised on a flared hexagonal base, single-piece construction. Factory-polished under base and lower mold lines. New England. 1850-1870. 9 1/8" H, 4" DOA rim, 4 1/4" DOA base.
Small chip and flake at one base mold line, minor interior residue ring below rim.

Provenance: Property from the estate of Dr. Stephen Goodyear, Charlottesville, VA.

Catalogue Note: Dr. Stephen Goodyear was the son of Anson Conger Goodyear, the first president of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Like his father, Dr. Goodyear was a devoted collector of fine art and antiques.
