Housed in a 19th-century frame. Circa 1875. 12" x 6" sight, 18 5/8" x 12 5/8" OA.

Catalogue Note: Little is known of artist, Joseph B. Sprague (19th century), although there is record of his filing for a patent in 1874 on a "new and useful Improvement in Pictures", namely watercolor painting on birch bark.
