TENNESSEE ATTRIBUTED WALNUT PLANTATION DESK, two-piece construction, the upper section having a cove-molded cornice above two cabinet doors with applied ripple molding and fall-front writing board concealing an interior fitted with dovetailed drawers and cubby hole. Table base with two dovetailed drawers, raised on octagonal-faceted and ring-turned legs. Poplar, walnut, and pine secondary woods. Retains an old surface. Circa 1840. 72" H, 41" W, 21 1/2" D.
Fair condition, some insect damage to the back side of the upper section and interior, old repair to left hand side of top, cracking to upper block of legs, back boards loose, repairs to interior drawers, one table drawer bottom replaced.
