AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART GENRE PAINTING, oil on canvas, after Edwin Landseer (British, 1802-1873), featuring a distraught young girl stranded on a rocky beach with her faithful Newfoundland dog, no signature located. Housed in likely original gilt molded-composition frame. Fourth quarter 19th century. 29 3/4" x 40 1/4" sight, 39" x 49" OA.
Painting in very good condition with minor abrasions, discoloration, and craquelure throughout. Old repaired puncture upper right. Frame very good with minor wear and losses.
