SOUTHERN FOLK ART CARVED AND PAINTED CANE / WALKING STICK, bold alligator handle, shaft with whimsical pairs of birds, running cats and dogs, and another alligator at base, figures with jeweled eyes. Retains metal ferrule and original polychrome paint-decorated and varnished surface. First quarter 20th century. 36 5/8" LOA.
Very good overall condition with minor wear. Minute loss to lower alligator tail. Minor house paint stain to handle.
