Refugee in Paris, the family home destroyed by the war, he was admitted to the school of Fine Arts in 1944. He is then student of Paul Lemagny, alongside Bernard Buffet.In 1946, he chose to leave the Fine Arts to join the workshop of Paul Colin where he will be massaging for four years. He attended the studio of Fernand LĂ©ger and became his pupil in 1949.After his military service, he made frequent study trips in search of the pictorial technique of the old masters, in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.Abstraction and surrealism were present in his work from the beginning of the 1950s, as well as the obstinate search for a form of expression of the real, attached to the demand for a sober and contemporary figuration. From 1953, Pierre Didier exhibited permanently in the galleries, then in the salons in France, Switzerland, Germany. Since 1960, he has participated in the comparisons show in the Cadiou Group, at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts, at the Salon of water painting.In 1968, Georges Pompidou will tell this artist living in Lorraine: "You make me discover a new personal contribution of surrealism. »Associate of the National Fine Arts. Pierre Didier won the Grand Prize of Plastic Arts of the city of Nancy in 1953 and the first prize "Still Life" of the CĂ´te d'Azur in 1966.He lived and worked alternately between Paris and Lorraine.
