Allen, London, marbled boards, leather spine and corners, red label to spine with gilt lettering, period newspaper clippings and ink inscriptions to front pastedown, additional ink inscriptions/notations to sections of text, primarily concerning the lives of noteworthy people or events.
Fair to good condition overall, moderate wear and some losses to boards/spine, particularly to edges/corners, corners also bumped, interior very legible, with expected toning and scattered minor stains or foxing, some pages, including some plates, detached but present, and having early newspaper clippings adhered to front pastedown, and ink inscriptions as described.
