Antique French Bone, possibly faux bone, Ladies Fan with hand painted panels. A richly designed and intricately crafted antique ladies fan with bone guards w hand carved open work and gilded figures, floral filigree and scroll motif. The fan opens to additional bone panels w same carved design motifs The panels and guards support a paper fan with intricately painted garden scene with lounging figures. Reverse of fan has painted scene with figure in garden. One panel needs repair, some surface wear including worn edges, wear to paint and separation at creases. Some damage to paper where it folds. Gilded detail shows slight wear in some areas. Comes with fabric box. Measures approx 16 inches wide x 11 inches tall when open.
