Description
In the hierarchy of horological complications, there is some debate on which takes the top. Some claim it is the minute repeater, while others swear by the tourbillon. But within the family of chronographs, between the "standard" chronographs, fly-backs, and so on, there is little contention that the most complicated of them all is the split-seconds, or rattrapante. The open face 18K gold case is immaculate, devoid of deep scratches or dings. Thre pelxi is clean and clear, maybe only slightly milky. The original white enamel dial, two registers; constant seconds and 30 minute recorder, split second hand activated by oval pusher at 11:00 are all mint. It’s as if this pocket watch spent the majority of it’s life in a drawer, away from anything that could damage it.A rare find
