When it comes to vintage dive watches, it is hard to beat the sheer elegance that is represented in this Tudor Submariner 7928.It remains to this day one of the most classic looking Tudor Submariner watches.
This timepiece is an exceptional example from 1961, with the rare pointed crown guard case and gilt “chapter dialâ€. The luminous plots have remained fluffy and aged to a beautiful creamy yellow that is almost gold in color. Contrasted to the logo, depth and outer track gilt printing it looks super cool!
Whereas the previous two references were smaller in size this 4th generation watch was bigger and much more rugged. The 39mm tonneau styled case has lost some definition but remains super clean.
Unlike earlier Tudors, the 7928 was fitted with the Rolex calibre 390, a 17-jewel movement based off the Valjoux 722. The only difference with the Rolex Submariner was that the Tudor movement was not chronometer certified.
The 7928 also used an identical bezel to the Rolex 5513 Submariner with the first 15 minutes markers.
