Description
A beautiful addition to anybody’s collection, this classic 1940’s chronograph time piece from Breitling is offered up in amazing period correct condition.
Everything about this wristwatch is exquisite all the way down to its very desirable Venus 188 movement, one of the most used in watch history!
The golden colored dial has an exceptional patina; with all it’s imperfections and small scratches that are a true testament to it age and all contribute to the unique character of this timepiece. The pristine domed acrylic crystal provides interesting warmth to the dial.
Over time the blued steel hands have lost their lume inserts but managed to stay a vivid blue, the gold sweeping chrono seconds hands has also remained nice and bright. A few scratches and some light fading of the black print can be observed throughout the dial but nothing significant. The patina carries over, as it should, to the crown and elliptical chronograph buttons where some signs of brazing can be seen, notably the top portion of the lugs.
