Large Carved Blue/White And Copper Red Jar, Yuan Period. Potted with wide swelling shoulders gently tapering to a slightly flared foot, surmounted by a short upright neck with lipped rim, molded with four large cartouches each carved in deep relief with under-glazed copper red blossoms on leafy stems emerging from garden rock, all between four ruyi-shaped lappets containing lotus collaring the shoulder, and a lappet band on the foot, the base unglazed revealing the buff stoneware burnt orange in the firing, 12.5 inches high.
