18th C. Chinese Zitan altar table. Stunning Zitan Waisted Painting table. The rectangular top with a framed center slab of Zitan. The carved band runs the perimeter of the table just below the top which is preceded by a handle-bar shaped apron that connects to each post. The legs are cylindrical in shape and taper outwards ever-so-slightly until they reach the ground. Very sturdy ancient construction with perfectly joined mortise and tenon. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The fine surface of the wood grain has a beautiful glow as the light is reflected.

Dimensions: 32" H x53-1/2" L x 26-3/4" D

Over all in Excellent condition, with normal anomalies in nature, natural wood imperfection, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent; Normal consider ages and wears.
