Description

A gem-set floral brooch. The circular-shape sapphire, with opal petal surround and carved blue and green tourmaline leaves. Length 6.5cms. Weight 10.1gms.

Condition

Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

Sapphire is a medium blue, well saturated, with good clarity, colour zoning and typical inclusions.

Estimated dimensions of sapphire 5.8 by 5.8 by 3mms.

Opals are well matched, with good play of colour, flashes in a range of hues, predominantly greens and oranges, with minor abrasions.

Tourmalines are fairly well matched, deep green and blue colour, in fairly good condition, with some minor abrasions.
