A mid 20th century Burmese sapphire floral brooch. The cushion-shape sapphire, inset to the foliate engraved crescent, with scrolling bar surround and graduated circular-shape sapphire trailing line. Accompanied by report number 5775-1931, dated 5th May 2015, from the Gemmological Certification Services, stating that the cushion-shape sapphire weighs approximately 2.40cts and has inclusions characteristic of sapphires originating from Burma, with no indications of heating. Length 5.5cms. Weight 19.9gms.

The circular-shape sapphires are a well matched medium blue hue, slight variation in hue and saturation. Varying inclusions, many eye-visible. Sapphires have minor-moderate abrasion.
