Description
George B. Wood; "A Treatise on the Practice of Medicine", in two volumes, fourth edition, Philadelphia, Lippincott, Grambo and Co., 1855. Full calf binding, raised spine with two black gilt labels, 6 1/4" x 9 1/4", 852/864 pages.
First volume is inscribed "Dr. J.R. Russell, Ringgold". The second volumes has library markings from The Battle Creek Sanatorium and A.M.M.C. Library, inscribed by B.B. Brashear, Senior Surgeon, 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. His wife, Catharine Whitacre Brashear served as the Regimental Matron, became known as the "Mother of the Regiment", they served the entire war.
