One of numerous arguments and counter arguments on religious and political issues by Charles Leslie (1650-1722), Irish nonjuror, whose life was dedicated to controversy, primarily as a defender of the High Church.
Leslie was always quick to dissect the arguments of Daniel Defoe and his follow dissenters, and in Cassandra responds to their writings in the Observator. Leslie's Theological Works were collected in 1721. Samuel Johnson later commented that "Leslie was a reasoner, and a reasoner not to be reasoned against."
