Description
A Russian parcel gilt and cloisonne enamel kovsh, Grachev Brothers, St Petersburg, 1899-1904. The base set with an 1891 Alexander III ruble, the upper border of the exterior enameled with a row of lappets in magenta and black within a turquoise, both front and back of the exterior with shield-shaped reserves centering a blossom in conforming color against a stippled gilt ground, with flat handle and pine coin finial on the prow set with a cabochon garnet. Struck with maker's marks and 88 silver standard. Gross weight: 119 grams. Width over handle 4 9/16 in. (11.4 cm).
