Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero, Mezcala, ca. 400 to 100 BCE; West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE; Mayan Territories, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. Three wonderful hand-built effigy figures. First is a Guerrero Mezcala frog, carved from a light-gray stone with glinting gold-hued inclusions, with a hunched back, curled limbs, and an anthropomorphic face. Second is a Nayarit terracotta quadruped puppy whistle with a bulbous body, conical tail, and a petite head with perky ears and hemispherical eyes. Last is a Mayan pottery bat with outspread wings, protruding chest, miniscule feet, and a triangular head with circular eyes; a small perforation is on top of the head. A fine collection from three distinct Pre-Columbian cultures! Size of largest (puppy): 4.625" L (11.7 cm).

Condition
All items have age-commensurate surface wear, small chips and nicks to peripheries and bodies, and light earthen and mineral deposits throughout. Bat has loss to portion of face with small drilled hole on bottom of verso. Puppy has several small hairline fissures, with functioning whistle.
