Item Details

Description

Alton S. Tobey (American 1914-2005) Two oil on board portrait paintings. The paintings are of Judge Edward D. Cutler (1849-1931) and Lillian M. Cutler (1871-1967). Edward Cutler was a prominent figure in Schenectady, New York as a county judge, director with numerous local corporations, and at the time of death, he was the dean of the Schenectady County Bar Association. He was involved in Democratic politics and was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1884-1888. The Edward Cutler painting measures 35" x 42" on board and 43 1/2" x 50 1/2" w/ frame. The Lillian Cutler painting measures 35" x 42" on board and 41 1/4" x 48 1/4" w/ frame.
