A rare 14 karat yellow gold Imperial Russian military cross for the Order of Saint Stanislaus. The cross's four arms are decorated in a deep red translucent enamel over an engraved background, while the central porcelain inlay bears the hand painted letters "SS" for St. Stanislaus. The Order of St. Stanislaus was originally the second-highest ranking Polish order, but was incorporated into the Russian system in the mid-19th century. The distinctive Russian double eagle coat of arms is used in between each post of the cross. Circa: Early 20th century. Hallmarked to back. Measures 2-1/2" x 3-1/2". Total weight: 17 dwt.
