Description

IMPRESSIVE 20TH C DRAGON ZITAN THRONE:
Elaborately carved and pierced dragon throne, topped by a large dragon head with his tongue curving down into a fire pearl. The backsplat is carved in bas relief featuring a pearl with the body of a dragon in a cloud filled sky. Pierced floral brackets surround the backsplat. The top of the throne is carved into facing dragons. Each arm consists of four carved dragons. The bottom front and sides are pierced reserves of dragons and pearls. The claw feet rest on bottom stretchers. The overall effect is a throne wrapped in sinuous dragons with their tails extended in dramatic gestures. The dragons' features are carved in great detail.
