Details: Civil War Antique NEW YORK TRIBUNE ABRAHAM LINCOLN FUNERAL PROCESSION APRIL 22 1865 John Wilkes Booth Andrew Johnson American History Americana
This antique copy of "The New York Tribune" was published April 22, 1865, just after the death of Abraham Lincoln. The paper features extensive coverage of Lincoln's funeral procession and notes on military operations dispersing the remains of the Confederate Army. Another notable column called "The Confederacy Justified" debunks several arguments in favor of the Confederacy made by one Rev. K. J. Stewart in a book published in 1864. The newsprint is printed on rag paper and remains uncut at its edges.
